HOWDY
Uncommon greeting, huh?
I may live in the suburbs of Olympia, WA, but my formative years were lived in Eastern Washington. My first jobs were changing sprinklers in alfalfa fields in the spring, bucking 100lb bales of hay five high in the summer, and shoveling feet (yes, multiple feet) of snow off of decks and porches in the winter. Howdy is simultaneously a tip of the cap to my formative years and a friendly greeting to you. These formative years taught me what hard work really is.
I grew up with a dark room in my house
so my mom could develop her film. We'd drive up and down our local roads in the Methow Valley taking photos of wildlife searching for their next meal and old barns leaning ever so close to their final resting place, held up by a couple of metal cables staked in the ground. As a hobbyist photographer, my mom taught me creativity and perspective.
When my previous life as a baseball player came to an end,
my brother gave me his old camera gear. The company he was working for at the time had just purchased him all new camera gear, so this gift may have not meant much to him, but to me it was like breathing air on a new planet. This new opportunity was both exciting and enticing. I started taking photos everywhere. I had found a new passion to replace baseball.
For the past decade, I've been a full-time professional photographer
working with national and regional brands, healthcare companies, industrial organizations, small businesses, professional athletes, tourists, young couples, and individuals. My thirst for success in business comes from my Dad, a recently retired CPA. Witnessing his dedication to his small business taught me that business is all about quality, integrity, and communication.
